Major automotive manufacturers like Chevrolet, Camaro and Cadillac have been using fiber optics for quite some time now to monitor exterior lighting. Other applications that have arised are on-board safety devices and systems that require immediate response or rapid communication to and from the monitoring system and the device module. With the right cost-effective components and the large bandwidth of fibers, more and more manufacturers are leaning towards fiber as their device’s means of communication.
